Indications for traction therapy:

  • nerve root compression
  • neck pain
  • shoulder tension
  • lower back pain
  • pelvic pressure
  • muscle cramps

Contraindications for traction therapy:

  • various eye diseases
  • cardiovascular diseases
  • hypertension or recent surgery
  • recent unhealed bone fractures
  • artificial hip joints or other surgically inserted orthopedic implants
  • undergoing special treatment or taking medicines
  • abdominal or inguinal hernia
  • tendency to bleeding
  • fever
  • common cold
  • severe headache or ear ache

Treatments with the use of a traction table are not advisable right after a meal.

 

Traction therapy is mostly prescribed in a series of 8 to 10 treatments. A treatment lasts 10 minutes.
